How to Redeem Your Gift Card, Merchandise Credit and Refund Voucher

To Redeem Gift Cards

Gift cards can be redeemed at REI.com and REI-OUTLET.com, at an REI Store, or by phone at 1-800-426-4840.

  1. Redeem online
    • Shop

      Visit REI.com or REI-OUTLET.com and add the items you'd like to purchase to your shopping cart.

    • Check out

      When you're done shopping, proceed through the checkout process and fill in the necessary information.

    • Enter gift card number and PIN

      On the Checkout page, enter your gift card number and PIN in the appropriate boxes. Gift card PIN is located on the back of card. Please scratch off the applicable section to reveal PIN.

    • Submit your order

      Once you've reviewed your order on the Payment Information page, complete the payment information section and click the "Submit Order" button. That's all there is to it!

  2. Redeem at REI stores nationwide

    Find a store using our store locator or call 1-800-426-4840.

    Print your gift card and present it to the cashier at checkout.

  3. Redeem by phone

    Call 1-800-426-4840.

    Give the sales associate your gift card number and PIN when requested. Gift card PIN is located on the back of card. Please scratch off the applicable section to reveal PIN.

To Redeem Merchandise Credits & Refund Vouchers Online

Paper merchandise credits or refund vouchers issued at REI stores may be redeemed online, over the phone or at any REI store.

  • Add item(s) you wish to purchase to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout.
  • At step #5 of checkout enter the 12-character "Number"s (consists of letters) and the 4-digit PIN printed on your paper merchandise credit or refund voucher. (Where to find your PIN.)
  • If you wish to use more than one merchandise credit or refund voucher in the same transaction, click the "Add Another" button and enter the next Number and PIN.
  • When you've entered information for all the merchandise credits and refund vouchers you wish to apply in the order, complete the rest of checkout.
  • The dollar amount of merchandise credit and refund vouchers applied will be shown at checkout.
  • Your REI Order Confirmation e-mail will also display the remaining balances on merchandise credits and refund vouchers.
